My Take:

Neil and Gauri are the perfect couple. They are madly in love and they also have a bunch of extremely interesting friends. They have get-togethers and go on trips abroad. There is always someone who tries to spoil their relationship and in this case its Srinya, Neil’s fitness expert. There’s love and fun and madness around until everything goes wrong.

EVERYTHING! Misunderstandings start due to lack of communication, fights happen among them, extra-marital affairs and there’s also a planned abduction. Neil tries to describe all of it to his boss Gauri and thus the story unfolds. This book is a Bollywood movie gone wrong!

First of all, I disliked the way the plot has been described. It’s mostly random and there have been innumerable times when I lost track of who is talking about/to whom! Slangs have been deliberately used to make statements sound cool (something which I find extremely uncomfortable).

Next, the chain of events in Neil’s life- It’s like the God of Bad Omens has personally blessed him! I liked the fact that except certain parts, the story line was relatively honest about the lifestyle of an Indian middle-class family.

This book has done a great job at maintaining suspense at all points. What starts as a happy story goes through a roller-coaster ride and ends up happy again. The book is fast-paced and can be finished in no time. This book is for the readers who want a short and cute tale about love, struggles and happy endings.
